My Dark Happy Place is a true crime podcast at its heart. The idea for My Dark Happy Place started out as a way for me, your host Desarae, to put my interest in true crime and quest for information to use. Most episodes will be about, well murder, because isn't that what a lot of true crime is? Aside from the murder, we will also cover disappearance, cold cases, and on random occasions maybe some paranormal or conspiracy type episodes. Each episode will explore a different case in great detail, from who is involved, to how the case came to be, to the aftermath. Along side the facts of the case, there will be commentary, where fitting.

Hi! My name is Desarae! I am the creator and host of My Dark Happy Place. I have always had an interest in true crime growing up. As I've gotten older that went from shows and documentaries, to books, to podcasts. I started listening to true crime podcasts a few years ago on my commutes to work and started thinking, I should do this too. Like I said, I've always had an interest in true crime and I like researching, but always thought it was a niche thing. The people around me weren't really interested in hearing me talk about these horrific cases. Once I realized how many people out there had an interest in the same things I do, I decided to go for it. It has been a long time coming because I am doing it all on my own, from the research and editing to the 'graphic design' and social media, literally everything. My goal is to bring you all great content that is interesting, entertaining and we all enjoy week after week! I want this to be a your Dark Happy Place just as it's mine!
